Description

General Sosabowski was fighting in the defense of Warsaw in 1939. He escaped from captivity and under command of the underground organization broke through to the France, where he returned to the active duty in Polish Army. Creator of the first in the history of the Polish Army parachute unit – 1st Independent Parachute Brigade. Its soldiers believed that they will have a chance to jump on the parachute over the occupied Poland and be the first Polish soldiers carrying independence. The brigade was ready for combat when the Warsaw Uprising began, but the decision of the Allies was used during the failed Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands, where he suffered a loss of close to half of the manpower.

Soldiers of the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade were using a gray berets – in this color is the face of our watch.
